There has been a constant battle in growth vs value since the beginning of the year. Value investors are looking for counter-cyclical hedges while growth investors are betting on a stable rebound. Cathie Wood’s ARK fund posted scary declines to start the year, but her actively manage funds have picked solid performers as of late leaning on growth stocks. A 3.5% gain on Monday continued a 31% turnaround for the fund since the start of the year. Growth-oriented picks in technology and biotech were some of the biggest winners. As inflation concerns are alleviated by Fed actions, these growth stocks can perform better as inflation won’t erode future cash flows. This is a huge turnaround for the ARK funds, and it highlights the potential of growth in the current macroeconomic environment.
